The Main Chorten

I should write about this beautiful building, but all I can think of is the fact that these photos are almost twenty years old, and I am wondering, is the man on the bicycle still alive? Does he know that I took this picture? If so, does he remember? While the picture was taken, did he realise that he would go online twenty years later? Of course not, how would he know. Do I have the right to take him online? I hope so.
Reminder: This weblog is dedicated to the people of Tibet.

I was there two years ago. Tibet was quite different then from the pictures you took. It's now full of tourists and buddism pilgrimage.
What's your opinion about Tibatan Buddism?
I was joinning a tour with few buudists. Honestly the agency serves mostly for taiwanese buddisom pilgrimage. I was very dissapointed when finally realized thougn they and Tibatans believe in the bodhisattvaes, they have totally different views from the Tibatans. I wonder the desire of money is the only resaon they believe in this.
Well, my travel pals still introduce me some of the bodhisattvas, mostly wealth-giving.
You have shot wonderful pictures. It will be a great work once published, I believe.

Thanks, but I don't think that these pictures will ever be published in a book. But they will certainly stay online for a long time.
I don't know a great deal about Tibeten Buddism, I'm afraid. It seem ed to be very peaceful in those days. Which is not true considering the fact that it is a country under occupation.
