Contemporary Chinese Architecture

Beautiful, isn't it? Timeless compared to the Tibetan parts of Shigatse. Very practical. I guess. Most of it built for civil service people and the army. And most of the Chinese soldiers were forced to go to Tibet. At least that's what we heard. I've been to one of these army barracks. Not funny. Not funny at all. Very very basic to say the least, as one would imagine. No pictures though for obvious reasons.

The Fort

Or what's left rather. Overlooking the town. It was the site of the formal installation of the 5th Dalai Lama. And it was later used as the headquarters of the local government. Way back in time.

Pilgrims

And you are one of them. For some odd reason. Although you don't feel like one of them. But then you do.

And The Clouds

Why can't I help myself feeling really really tiny? And unimportant? And tiny again?

Look At The Sky

Isn't it beautiful? Isn't just mind blowing? Crisp, clear. Dramatic. We're talking miles and miles of distance. Just gorgeous. In the middle of nowhere. Me. Reduced to myself.

The Pilgrim Circuit

Tashilhunpo is a holy place. Don't ask why, just accept it because it's a fact. And while you're there why not pay respect and follow the the clockwise circuit of the outer walls. Just do it. Trust me.
